U – Undercarriage down and locked (if applicable)
S – Speed – approach speed established
T – Trim-set
A – Air brakes (spoilers/air brakes) – checked for correct operation
L – Landing area – look for wind, other aircraft, and personnel
L – Land the glider
To determine wind direction and speed
(if no other weather information is available):
A 3 knot breeze will orient the wind sock according to the wind.
The wind sock will fully extend when exposed to a wind of 15 knots.
