WORLD RECORD CLAIM ABOVE 60,000 FEET ON AUGUST 26, 2018

To say it was a remarkable day is an understatement. It was a world record-setting day! On Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018,¬†Airbus¬†Perlan Mission II soared to 65,605 feet (19,996 meters) pressure altitude. With support from capcom, Chief Pilot Jim Payne and Pilot Miguel Iturmendi soared in the Perlan 2 glider at more than 12 miles above the earth. It’s a new world record, pending official verification.
